Public Watch: The Secret Of 85% Increase In Revenue

Public Watch is a leading authorized watch dealer and Retailer of Branded Timepieces with more than 10 gallery boutiques across Malaysia. Established since 1976, we pride ourselves in helping our customers choose the perfect timepiece for themselves and their loved ones, while also serving to help repair and maintain their precious timepieces throughout generations to generations.

Public Watch began its humble beginnings as a watch repairer in the year 1966. It’s only a decade later that it was officially registered as a company in 1976. In the early days, the business was pretty much run by family members and only had very little capital for any business expansion. Through hard work, perseverance and dedicated service, Public Watch has successfully grown from a one-man retail shop to its size today of 10 Boutiques across the Northern states of Malaysia mainly with the strong support of loyal clients, close friends, family and supportive suppliers.

Since its origins as a humble watch shop in Penang, Public Watch’s Core Values as a watch dealer in Malaysia remain unchanged till today!

Challenge

Initially, the client is heavily investing in Google, Meta, and TikTok ads to drive the company’s sales revenue. During the 23 years of digital transformation, the client experiences an increase in sales revenue, but the company’s profit remains unchanged.

The Biggest Reason Is That:
1. The competitiveness of the industry

Everyone is bidding on the exact keywords and targeting, which is why the cost of advertising has increased over time. And it is very challenging to lower costs, as most e-commerce owners heavily depend on ads to generate sales revenue. One day without ads, the revenue will decrease by more than 65%.

2. Price war
The industry is quite competitive, where everyone compares prices before purchasing from a vendor. The client’s online sales channels include Shopify, Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok Shop. Apart from the Shopify Store, users on the other platform are very price-sensitive and always looking for a cheaper price. Hence, the client will need to reduce the profit to cater to the market.

Solution

With the implementation of SEO and a properly optimised Google Business Profile, the client experienced an increase in conversion rate directly attributed to the SEO efforts. Over a year, we helped the client rank 52 out of 70 keywords in the Top 10 positions.

According to the data, the actual sales conversion rate from SEO marketing is around 1%, whereas the conversion rate from digital ads is around 0.43%. When comparing the different strategies based on conversion rate, SEO Marketing brings higher conversion with lower costs. A regular e-commerce store would need to spend at least RM10,000 on advertisements to gain a larger market share.

Recently, the client has renewed the contract for Unlimited Keywords, Full Website On-page Optimisation, and Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) to increase market share and conversion rate for their E-commerce Store.

Recently, the client has also begun to expand its business with additional kiosks, partnerships, and official stores. If you are looking for a credible watch supplier, consider Public Watch. They provide one-stop solutions from supply to repair and maintenance. Additionally, it’s worth noting that their product is genuine and imported directly from a different country.
